DEVELPOING TECHNOLOGY TOGETHER- India and Spain by Gustavo de Arístegui

Gustavo de Arístegui comes from a long standing diplomatic background, his father and grandfather were both senior diplomats posted as ambassadors in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.

Mr Arístegui next to his native Spanish speaks English, French and German, and is interested in all the international issues that are related in any way to Spain, international security and strategic issues, terrorism, European affairs, Islam and the Arab–Israeli conflict. His English is impeccable as becoming of a scion of a diplomat family.

Gustavo de Arístegui, the former ambassador of Spain in India took many steps in bringing forth the relationship between the two countries to the next level. Gustavo de Arístegui, a great judge of opportunities that are in offer, thinks India as a next big market in the coming times.

In an interview, he points out the view of his relationship with India in the following words.

“It is not only about transferring technology and building together in India…it is about developing technology together.”

India has captivated and fascinated the world. The ex-Ambassador of Spain in India, Gustavo de Arístegui also expressed that with a deeply-rooted personality and a profound collective soul, India is more a universe than a nation, all boosted by its dazzling diversity.

Influenced by India’s ancient philosophies, ravishing culture, literature, poetry and other art forms, he refers to the nation as a beacon of humanity.

Gustavo de Arístegui was eager to join hands with India in developing cities of India into smart cities.

Spain can rightfully lay claim to being a game changer when it comes to dramatic and sustainable urban transformation. After all, it is home to nearly a quarter of the world’s Top 20 cities to live in.

From Bilbao in the north to Barcelona in the east, capital Madrid to Santander and Málaga, its cities are a veritable rainbow of efficiencies that put citizens first.

He was also the first among diplomats to support India’s make in India initiative.

Arístegui investigated in each and every policy of the Indian government, and found each case as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship.

His views on the importance of general aviation and business aviation and how it can be made more affordable for potential users of these aircraft, while talking about how Spain has in the last four years deepened ties with India while looking forward to strengthening the relationship based on trust and benefits.
